However, we often overlook small habits, such as the use of traditional business cards. Every year, a huge number of business cards are printed, wrapped in plastic, and distributed—but within a short time, they are thrown away. This not only leads to paper wastage but also creates economic and practical problems.
Most business cards are made from thick, high-quality paper to leave a good impression at first sight. But these cards are rarely used more than once. Typically, when printing business cards, you need to order at least 500, resulting in many cards being left unused. If you get a promotion, change jobs, or start a new project, your old cards become irrelevant, leading to even more waste.
Additionally, custom business cards are quite expensive, and they usually come wrapped in single used plastic, which is harmful to the environment. So, I started looking for an alternative that would be eco-friendly, cost-effective, and reusable.
As a solution to this problem, I created my own environmentally friendly business cards using recycled paper and a custom stamp with contact information. This way, I don’t need to print hundreds of cards at once—I can make just the number I need.
My solution is built around three main steps:
Use of Recycled Paper
I collect pre-cut recycled paper from local markets or online platforms at an affordable price. Repurposing used paper not only reduces waste but also gives each card a unique texture. It works as a zero-waste sustainable solution.
Custom Stamp—An Alternative to Printing
Instead of printing my information on each card, I created a custom stamp with my email address. This reduces the need for ink-heavy printing, and I can easily update my information as needed.
